Belief in a flat Earth is found in mankind’s oldest writings. In early Mesopotamian thought, the world was portrayed as a flat disk floating in the ocean, and this forms the premise for early Greek maps such as those of Anaximander and Hecataeus of Miletus.
Some theologians and biblical researchers maintain that at least some of the writers of the Old Testament books of the Bible had a Babylonian world view, according to which Earth is flat and stands on pillars, and is covered by a solid sky-dome (the Firmament). The firmament was the heaven in which God set the sun ( Psalm 19:5) and the stars ( Gen 1:14). The flat earth concept appears to be mentioned in ( Isaiah 40:22) where it speaks of God “dwelling above the circle of earth” which means a literal circle, from the Hebrew word “chuwg”.
Daniel 4:10-11 KJV “And thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height therefore was great. The tree grew, and was strong, and the height therefore reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:” The implication being that if the world were spherical then not everyone could see this great tree which is the world tree the axis mundi.
They could all see it only if the world were flat. The prophet Daniel at this time was captive in Babylon during the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar. The Egyptians had a similar view except they were the center of the universe. The Egyptian goddess Nut and the outstretched wings of the solar disk represented the firmament.

WOULD you like to earn $5,000? If you can prove that the world is a sphere, floating in space, turning on its own axis, revolving around the sun, you can earn a prize of that amount. Such a prize has been posted for years, offered by Wilbur Glenn Voliva, general overseer of Zion, 111., home of the Christian Catholic Apostolic Church, founded some thirty years ago by the late John Alexander Dowie.
Many have tried to claim the $5,000—and all have failed. The catch is that your proof must not start with the assumption that the world is round, or rather a globe, for Voliva believes the world is round, but a round, flat disc rather than a sphere. Or that the sun and moon move in orbits while the earth stands still, that the moon is about the same size as the sun and the same distance from the earth, shines by its own light, and moves in much the same orbit as the sun.

I have carefully considered your arguments and those of others over the last few days.
It is difficult to escape your conclusion.
However it is very inconvenient as I am a science teacher, and it is very disturbing to have to challenge my paradigm.
First I stopped believing in space travel this year .
Now this?

Thanks for the feedback. I worked 25 years in Wall Street and learned more about the reality of things, and the long term, massive lies being perp’d on us all for a long, long time that i greatly respect all in science,finance,medical community,etc. who are opening their minds and using their eyes to see, and ears to hear some very inconvenient truths.

Hi my name is Fawn, I heard about ‘Flat Earth’ a couple of weeks ago, a blip here and there on F/B. As I thought more and more about it, I have come to realize it answers more questions then leaves questions. For instance, scripture tells us that when the Lord comes back “all eyes will see Him”, which is impossible if earth were a globe. My first dreams were flying with my father; there was not a curvature to the earth, as told in school. Most people that talk about this concept seem to be condescending, rather than edifying, which makes it hard to get on board. Thank you for your evidences and your ability to teach this concept rather than bully or ridicule your truths. Sincerely, Fawn

But the sun and moon can be seen at the same times. Sometimes, I Skype my friend in California and it’s day time there? I hate to so fervently dispute your theory but the earth is round like the rest of the planets. If it isn’t, why not?

The state of Kansas was surveyed by the Geological Society, and they determined that the entire state is “flat as a pancake”. Kansas is a large state, an there should be some curve or something, but it’s flat from one side to the other. The math doesn’t fit, either. There is no curve. None. Zero.

If the earth is flat, why can I not see the Rockies from 30,000 feet in a jet from Iowa? The mountains are big enough, that I should be able to see them from that height of the earth were flat. And our days should always be the same relatively for every country in the world. And why are there no pictures of the edge of the earth. Even with the technology from early 20th century, there should be photos of the edge of the earth.And why do we not have photos of the bottom of this flat disk?

Limitations in your vision keep you from seeing those far away things. Though I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles, distant details get lost due to convergence and earth’s atmospheric distortion. The longest distance photo recorded recently was 443 kilometers.

The sky and earth converge at the horizon which is always at the height of the viewer’s eye and is level, even at 30,000 feet.
Daytime and nighttime will vary based on one’s elevation, local atmospheric condition, and distance from the center of the earth. On the earth plane, north is center and south is the direction radiating outward from there. The sun and moon travel in circuits around the center above the ‘disc’.
As for technology, we still don’t know how ancients were able to build what they built. But they could accurately predict seasons and celestial events.
Most of our real history has been kept from the public so that the truth of our world is unknown to us. There is a full on effort to control our minds.
We have no publicly available pictures of the ‘edge’ or of the ‘bottom’, if these things exist.
But we also have no earth cam showing a spinning ball in space. Supposedly we went to the moon in the 20th century. Supposedly. Though they say they lost all that technology. 😆

Questioning everything that the generation before us has believed and was taught. I think is a good thing. if it’s not totally proven for a fact. Now I don’t believe everything I was taught in school or with science. But I do think the Earth is round. Mostly by Common Sense. The Moon is round the sun is round, and all the other planets are round. The image of the Sun going around a flat planet with the Moon is Ludacris. You could see the sun 24 hours a day 7 days a week it never disappears. It might disappear from my eyes to see standing in one part of the Earth. But if I followed the Sun. I could watch it all the way around the Earth. I don’t think scientist knows exactly how the universe works if the Sun is stationary or we are stationary. I do
Know. But not for a fact but out of common sense of how things work. The Earth has two different motions 1 maybe by the Sun. Meaning we have time. Which is 24 hours that the Sun is seen at one point and 24 hours it seemed at that same one point. Either the Earth is rotating around in the Sun stationary, or the Earth is stationary in the Sun is going around. But I do know for a fact that the Earth tilts back and forth Four Seasons. At the longest day in summer, then chills back toward the shortest day in winter. When it’s tilting back towards winter is fall common now when it’s turning back towards Summer it’s spring. Now all the planets or Stars stay in the same place. Thats why we know when they appear. They’re always there we just can’t see them at that time. Also without the Sun shining on them at a certain degree we would not be able to see them. We depend on this sun to see everything with our eyes. Our eyes are depending on the Sun. It is the ultraviolet or something in the Sun that we can see. Without the sun we can’t see nothing so if there are things that the Sun the ultraviolet the Rays the whatever does not bounce back from then we can’t see it with our eyes
This separates the flesh, with the spirit the sun is flesh not the Son of God though he was flesh but the Sun in the sky. Shine a light on a flat surface, and the whole surface sees the light. Shine a light on a round surface. only one side of the round surface is lit up. Now scientist use telescopes and glass to see in outer space. And we know that using glass making it different thicknesses molding it different can change the way you see something. So the images they see they focus it to what their eyes can see. Maybe changing the distance, the mass, of that image. Just like if someone has bad eyes. They wear glasses period changing what they see not the image but the way they see it I need glasses to read small letters. Now the letters or words don’t change but the way my eyes see them they change making them bigger then what they really are. Know what I mean. they’re still small but the glass makes them appear big. So by doing this I can distort what I see. What I think is the biggest might be the smallest and what I think is the smallest might be the biggest because I’m changing what I can see. I adjusted for my eyes. So anybody that thinks they know for sure in for fact. Might be wrong. But they might be right. We are not stupid. and the Bible does say the stars in the universe is for signs and wonders. So we wonder how it all works. We are our worst enemy. Ourselves. We say that Satan is bad that he got kicked out of heaven. Man got kicked out of the Garden of Eden. We’re no better than Satan. but this is a lesson learned. We can make wrong choices. We have the ability to screw up bad. Knowing that we can go forward, or backward. And in Revelations it says six six six is the number of the Beast, which is man’s number. So we always need to check ourselves and our motives. We think we are righteous and close to God. But are we Wicked and so far from the truth. do I give Tidings and pray to God and do all things in his name with something up my sleeve the whole time my pride. That I I am doing God’s will, that in the end that I may be found righteous righteous. That I forgot to look at God’s will. Because I was on the path on my own will to be found righteous in God’s eyes. Does that make sense. I was so focused on myself being righteous, that I thought I was righteous and I forgot to look who is righteous. Easy to get distracted. So I always check my motive why am I doing what I am doing. Yes I want to be found to be a good person in the side of God. But I have to know what is good. But how do I know what is good I did not make good what I think might be good is bad period how do I know. Hitler killed millions of Jews. Was that bad or good. We are taught that it is bad. But look how many Jews were killed by God. Look when David sinned against God. Counted his troops. Did not an angel of death come and kill 3,000 of his men. Was that evil or good. The men didn’t count themselves it was David. So innocent men died so what is good and what is bad only God knows. He lets things happen the way they happen. so don’t judge fear fear that you make the wrong choices pray that you’re making the right choice. Always love and that love surround you. But fear I think has great value. Even though you think you are making the right choice maybe you’re making the wrong choice or believing a lie when it’s the truth and believing the truth and thinking it’s a lie. The Jews killed thousands of Christians. They thought they were right in God’s eyes. the Catholics the Crusades killed Millions of people thinking they’re doing right in God’s eyes. It says in the Bible and they think they are doing God’s will. I believe happens by accident. Evil or good and I can’t decipher which is which half the time. Because God is letting it happen. So it might be good but I think it’s evil. So woe to the person that have to stand in front of the Almighty. And do his work. The prophets. Read all about the prophets. the things they had to do and see period and not judge that they are doing bad. Though they seen the suffering of the people knowing that God is doing this not just for this generation but generations to come. So we can continue through this thing called life. Seeing the wrath of God, having much fear come over then but yet stand there and not make a wrong judgment. Or running, and God yelling don’t run from me. Knowing that at the end there’s a lesson taught and much love is shown. Even though we think they’re suffering loss. In our hearts we believe and know that there is growth not just for the person going through the suffering but the people watching and seeing God at work. I know the Bible says about Satan and that Rella life and that realm of life will suffer for eternity. But how many times in the Bible that we see God real aunt not add but relent. Changes his mind shows Mercy. so never give up keep striving for greatness because we have a great God. And always pray for those that are learning and growing and learn and grow with them.

I think infra red cameras from ground and sky with telephoto zoom without fish eye or windows on aircraft that warp the earth prove who is telling the truth.
