The truth is coming out, so the establishment is in total damage control using their favorite tool: MOCKING. As long as it’s out anyway, and they can’t stop the momentum, they’ll join in the “conversation” by having it mocked as totally stupid until the “you’re an idiot for believing it” is pounded into the heads of everyone. And then they’re figuring it will be dead and buried with enough mocking.

And some (apparently) local commentators push back on the story, and they are the establishment? Really?
None of this is a presentation any the evidence of a FE, How about you presenting evidence about how the sun remains above the FE as has been claimed, and how it actually is able to move as has been explained.
Until a more substantial message is produced, perhaps mocking is entirely suitable.

Um – I was responding to the specific message from jess, not the entire site. It was entirely relevant to what he wrote. I thought his language was sloppy and a bit outrageous. I directly quoted his words to show how they provided a generally unuseful message.
I challenged him to address fundamental FE topics, not juvenile meaningless tripe. In doing so, he would be supporting FE instead of minimizing it with trivia.
I didn’t once call him a name or make a personal comment towards him; that would have been disrespectful.

You’re welcome to your opinion on what I said. I’m confident I spoke directly to his words and how unconvincing they were.
One thing that makes sense is the sunset I watched and whose pictures I recently posted a link for, to address a direct question earlier this week. Those images are clear evidence in my world.
What resonates with me is seeing and understanding evidence. Also understanding how something actually occurs, not just a video claim of something as an absolute (there are certainly dishonest videos in abundance in many places out there, generally speaking).
As I recall; the Start Here page includes: “Comments, submissions and constructive critiques all welcome as long as it is civil.” If there is something uncivil in my comments I’d be glad to learn what part that is.

I have some evidence to share on the last point you mention.
Here is a set of photos from a sunset in Costa Rica in Jan 31, 2017, from 18:49:56 until 18:55:24. The first portion is wide-angle (normal) with the sun above the horizon. When the sun meets the horizon, I zoom in for close and accurate viewing of the sum image.
