    In 1963 my brother-in-law a few years older than myself was stationed up in Alaska in the military and was trying to explain to me how they had these magical hi power telescope’s which would enable you to see through about 46 inches of ice or water-because the Russians and themselves could see each other’s feet/boots ~2.4 miles away “The two islands” not just the head and shoulders. I was far far too dense at the time to understand what he was trying to tell me but now I see perfectly well 🙂 ITS SEA/ICE LEVEL
