Scroll down to the Antarctic, same thing, yet you can get a full circle map of the Antarctic going West to East or vice versa.

If, as you say, the earth is a flat as a printed map then there should be one and ONLY ONE map projection that gets ALL the important map characteristics – distances, directions, shapes, areas – absolutely correct. So far the notion of a spherical earth has required and inspired more than a hundred different methods of mapping a sphere onto flat paper – Mercator, Flamsteed, Equal area, Equidistant, Albers, Lambert, etc. – each one of which claims to get at least one of those characteristics right and admits to getting at least one of them wrong.
But if the earth is really as flat as a sheet of paper then we don’t need any of those complicated projections, just a straightforward miniature representation of the flat earth, and everything – directions, distances, shapes, etc. – would always be accurate.
So …. what’s the map that correctly represents the flat earth????

Well, Antarctica is not closest to the Sun, I think you’re confusing that with the Equator and the Tropics of Cancer and Capricorn (due to the Earth’s Tilt). But, because of that Tilt and the spin of the planet, Antactica does receive 24 hours of sunlight (albeit, not as bright and strong as Noon in the United States), but closer to the kind of sunlight you would get in the Early Morning or Late Afternoon (not Direct Sunlight, but indirect).
As to why the South Pole is so much colder and Snowier than the North Pole, there’s several reasons. One being that Antarctica is an actual Continent (land mass) and the North Pole is just sea ice. So Antarctica’s ice rises about 3,000m above sea level, where the atmosphere is much thinner (Think how thin and cold the air is in Denver, where it’s only ~1,700m above sea level). That’s the major driving factor. Add on that the North Pole is in the ocean and so heat is conducted much easier and warms the ice while Antarctica, sitting on a frozen continent, isn’t being warmed from underneath. There’s a number of other more minute meterological features of the poles that make this different, including cloud cover, but altitude and whats underneath have a lot to do with it.
You should also know, Antarctica is in total darkness for about 4-6 months out of the year, and in only very indirect light for the other 4-6 months, so it’s a dark cold cold place…

That’s easy. It is not allegedly closest to the sun, The earth is not as sphere and the tilt does expose it to more daylight half the year, but more night the other half. That is because the tilt stays the same as it rotates around the sun. That is why the southern hemisphere has winter while the north has summer and vice versa. The area around the equator is always closest to the sun, varying a small amount north and south as the seasons change. Then you must factor in that our magnetic shield emanates from the core at the poles, which is too much to go into here but is not necessary to prove the point.

I have friends who took a year off & traveled around the world. They went from the east coast of the US to Europe to India to Asia & Australia to South America back to the US. In that order and by the most direct routes. I don’t understand how they can have done that on a flat Earth. I’ve seen them since they’ve been back! In the flesh! Please explain. Perhaps it *is* a cylinder.

Antarctica and the north pole are the furthest from the sun, you loon. This is why they’re colder, and why it gets progressively colder as you move towards the poles. The equator is the closest. The tilt means part of the year the northern hemisphere gets more sunlight, and the southern less, and vice versa for the other half, as the Earth revolves around the sun.
The tilt is why we have seasons. There’s no way to explain seasons with a crackpot, tinfoil hat flat Earth worldview. Go take a remedial Earth sciences class, you goddamned moron.

If your answer to everything is just ‘conspiracy’, then why isn’t your claim of a flat-earth also just ‘a conspiracy’? Of the two options, a round earth has massively more logical and scientific explanation than a flat-earth theory. You might get more people respecting your view if you presented it as a theory instead of a fact.
Another way to put this: if you are claiming that a round earth is NOT a proven fact, then you absolutely MUST also say that a flat earth is also NOT a proven fact.
There is a HUGE amount of factual evidence pointing to a round earth including things like pictures, witnesses, scientific measurement. Where is the evidence of a flat earth? And DON’T tell me to watch that video again because there is absolutely no factual evidence in it.

I mean, okay fine, for a second I’ll pretend that the Earth is flat. So? What does that really change? That the establishment is lying to me? I accepted the spinning ball Earth for many years. I would watch the official NASA satellite imagery of the Earth and astronauts floating around in space but there was always something that was bugging me in the back of my mind about these videos and images. Not once did I ever feel as though I was looking at anything that was remotely authentic. Even as I believed what they showed me was true. I can see the multi layered deception clearly now. Now I realize how much I’ve been lied to about our Earthly Plane. The trauma and damage these self appointed Masters of the Universe have caused is overwhelming at times. But I’ll use my anger and the energy from it; not to insult or put people down, but help guide people to the truth in their own time. Just like the author of this blog is doing.
I get it that some of you are pissed off. And rightly so. But your pissed off at the wrong guy and it looks like you don’t even realize it yet.

My entire life, I have worked as a planetary geologist, my team helped to design many experiments aboard Curiosity, and I watched as all my hard work, billions of dollars of hard work, flew out of the atmosphere on a rocket and landed on Mars. Are you saying that my entire life I have been living a lie, and my department spent over a billion dollars developing a LIE??

Also, the pear shaped earth is the result of an our planets rotational velocity sloppily reshaping the shape of the Earth. The pear isn’t really a noticeable thing, it is just a slight deviation from a perfect globe.

I have worked my entire life to get where I am now. I have gone through terabytes of isotopic and spectroscopic from the ChemCam, something my associate Nina Lanza helped design. I have helped to map out Mars to the micrometer. Wall Street is different, even if it was controlled by a central power source (it isn’t, I have good friends who manage hedge funds) it is just a financial center. Everyone I have met at NASA is incredibly enthusiastic about their work, and everyone else in my department all love doing what they do, real science. Also, according to your theory, the earth is a flat disk with Antarctica at the edges, and the “Firmament” beyond. However, I can assure you this is not true. Over the course of six months last year I travelled with some of my colleagues to the South Pole. We were in McMurdo station for a month, then went to Amundsen-Scott, then onto Mawson (An Australian research station), where we boarded a ship out. According to your logic, I would’ve had to travers almost all the way around the “disk” in order to do that, but we only travelled about 3000 km, not nearly enough to fit in with your “theory”.

Funny that you claim Wall St isn’t controlled. The entire financial system is. I’m positive that no one can justify logic behind quantitative easing or the derivatives market and pretend that those make sense in a logical and just way. Maybe it’s just very difficult to accept that you may have been hoodwinked? The thing that is real about any of the control paradigms people find themselves in are the effects on real people with real lives. Look at all the people who have spent tons of money going to college to get a good job and now have to live with their parents. It’s easy to believe a false promise/system. What’s tough is getting past pride and being willing to accept the possibility that you may have believed a lie.
For myself, I am not -positive- that the earth is flat. I am pretty well convinced that it isn’t a globe, but I’m still hung up on a few things. I am absolutely positive that NASA lies. I see no reason they wouldn’t lie to their employees either. It keeps people dedicated to the paradigm.

I have discovered that most pictures that purport to show curvature are actually due to lens distortion. Go pro and many other formats including all cell phones are equipped with wide angle lenses that distort images in order to include them in a frame. Viewing things with your own eyes is the most accurate interpretation of our world. Teevee and nasa are all about controlling the masses with deception.
Climb to the top of a mountain on any clear day. It becomes visually obvious the world is not a spinning ball.

First, the headline I read refers to Google Earth. If it said Maps a year ago, that might explain the outrageous claim that Antarctica is missing. It’s not, and never has been. I’m looking at it right now. I’ve been using GE to explore the globe since at least 2006 and have ‘visited’ the south pole many times.
If you’re having trouble with a pole, it’s the missing North pole. In early versions of GE it wasn’t missing at all. That’s because early versions didn’t show the sea bottom, and now the sea bottom is turned on by default. There is a setting in the view menu to see the water’s surface, but it doesn’t seem to work, and the North pole is still missing. There is no land mass there, and if we can’t see the ocean surface, we can’t see the ice floating above the pole.
Further more, unlike a standard globe, there are no lattitude markers leading to it, so it really is impossible to find the North pole with any degree of certainty.
But guys, it’s a computer simulation, not the Orb of Agamotto. Even if both poles were missing, it would only prove to be an oversight. Nothing more.
For all you people arguing that the antarctic is cold because of tilt? That’s only a factor for the globe scenario. A flat Earth has no tilt. If it did, one pole would cold and the other hot, and the only thing that can cause cold, snowy weather is elevation. That means the Earth is round. No one living in Minnesota should believe in a flat Earth.
In fact, only folks living near the equator would. A flat Earth means no seasons at all.
See where I’m going with this? If you chuck the idea of a round Earth Earth, you might as well start believing in magic again, because then a lot of what we understand becomes a mystery. The Sun revolves around a flat world, and if you start bending and twisting the foundation to explain why northerly and southernmost parts get cold, you might as well keep bending, because now the planet is getting round again. And you still wouldn’t have an explanation for the seasons.
I don’t want to insult anybody, but only children can believe that the Moon landing was faked, because the tools to create and maintain such a hoax didn’t exist in 1969. If you were alive then, you knew it wasn’t fake. It doesn’t take a lot of logic to come to this conclusion.
We live in an age where digital manipulation of images is easy. You don’t have to go to the library and put coins in a Xerox machine for black and white, poor contrast copies of book pages. Not ever. You go home and put them on the scanner, alter the digitized images with any number of programs you so desire. Even use the images as texture maps for 3d renderings.
All in the comfort of your own home.
So it’s easy to believe NASA has been faking proof all this time. Because you know how easy it is.
But to close your eyes to this simple truth means blinding yourself to real history as I’ve lived it. I remember when it took an entire room to do what your iPad does. That’s how big a comparable computer was, and it couldn’t do complex graphics at all.
The special effects it would have taken were all analog, and all time-consuming, and Hollywood was the industry of experts in that field, not NASA. And even they could not create what would be needed to perpetuate the hoax indefinitely. Like the old shots of the Enterprise in orbit, with the outline of the celluloid overlay having become very clear, the gimmick would have become plain by now.
Science is like this: if you don’t believe what the scientific community is saying, most likely it’s because you’re not informed enough. Religion has an agenda, and science is not politics. No matter what your representatives want you to believe, scientists do not engage in conspiracies to misinform. Learn more about the science to be convinced.

Google Earth uses Drones and High Altitude Balloons 100,000 feet up that’s how they take pictures not a Satellite that does not exist. Internet did not exist when I went through high school and programmed. Now I can search for myself ! There are no commercial flights to Antarctica and you have to apply at the state department (big secret there) Controlled by Military. Ever wonder why Russia is just 60 miles across from Alaska yet you have to fly 22 hours the other direction east to get to Russia , there is no flights from Alaska to Russia. Another cover up to hide the flat earth. UN Symbol is a flat earth symbol. Or go to the largest city in Australia Darling Park (google) see the flat earth symbols :

A commercial airline is in business to make money, and they sell flights where enough people will join together to buy tickets to fill enough of the plane to make money.
If they don’t fly between 2 cities you care to name, then the reason is there is no money to be made.
When they don’t make enough money, they cease to exist (which has happened a lot over the past several decades). This is common sense.
